Acceptable use
What machines can't be used for
Last updated: 3 November 2026
shedix machines are real computers on the internet, run on Google Cloud. Use them for building and running software for yourself or your team: coding agents, development, tests, previews and similar work. Don't use them, or let an agent you run use them, to do any of the following.
Not allowed
- Mining cryptocurrency, or other work whose point is to burn compute (proof-of-work, plotting, and the like).
- Attacks: scanning, probing or attacking networks or systems you don't own or have written permission to test; denial of service; sending or relaying traffic to hide where it comes from (open proxies, VPN or Tor exit nodes for others).
- Abuse of others: spam or bulk email, phishing, malware or command-and-control servers, credential stuffing, scraping that ignores a site's limits or terms.
- Illegal content: anything illegal where you are or in the United States, including child sexual abuse material, which we report to the authorities.
- Getting around limits: several accounts to get more free credit or higher limits, sharing an account, or reselling shedix machines as a hosting service without our written agreement.
- Breaking other providers' terms that apply to what you run, including Google Cloud's Acceptable Use Policy and the terms of the agents you sign in to (for example Anthropic's for Claude Code and OpenAI's for Codex).
- Harming shedix itself: probing our API or infrastructure for weaknesses outside a good-faith report (send those to support@shedix.dev), or interfering with other people's machines.
Public preview links
Preview links are public. Don't put anything behind one that would break this policy, and don't use them to host a public service for others.
What we do
We may look at a machine's running processes and network traffic patterns (not your files or sign-ins) when we see signs of abuse, such as an attack report from Google. When something breaks this policy we may put machines to sleep, suspend the account or delete machines, depending on how serious it is, and we'll tell you unless the law or safety stops us. We cooperate with lawful requests from authorities.
Report abuse of a shedix machine to support@shedix.dev.
